Irish Pubs

Having recently taken a trip to Dublin, I have grown an appreciation for Irish Pubs and Culture.  I spent St. Patrick's Day in Dublin and I was surprised to see the number of children taking up occupancy with their families in the pubs.  In Dublin the pub represents more than just a watering hole, it is a cultural center.  Local musicians play their instruments, fathers dance with their daughters, and grandparents sit back and sip on their pints.

Don Juan Diego just wants a social situation that caters to his fancy for old women.

Irish pubs are everything. There is definitely a sense of both fun and community. St. Patrick's in Dublin is definitely where it's at. It's encouraging to see grandmothers sitting together watching the parade, with children's faces pressed up against the glass enjoying the festivities with orange sodas in hand. I would love the see the states adopt this sense of community instead of seeing just 21 to 25 year olds and yuppies at the bar.
